WHAT
WE DO

OUR CORE VALUES.

Period Equity

La Lune aims to address and fight for period equity: providing equal access to education about menstrual health as well as access to quality menstrual products and hygiene essentials. We are dedicated to empowering menstruators in America to eliminate the surrounding stigma of menstrual hygiene.

Economic Justice

La Lune supports and we hope to help as many menstruators acquire access to quality menstrual hygiene products: regardless of their socioeconomic status. We advocate for economic justice and provide for all individuals -- particularly those in marginalized communities -- tailoring to their demonstrated needs while promoting inclusivity.

LGBTQIA+ Rights

Racial Justice

La Lune seeks to empower, uplift, and connect all menstruators of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and gender expressions. We will continue to fight for a safer, equal, and more inclusive world for all menstruators.

La Lune works to actively engage in and prompt discussions not only about period poverty but also about the racial inequities embedded in our society. We continue to fight for equal rights and opportunities for all individuals: combatting racial inequities and injustice.

Environmental Policy

Disposable sanitary products often contain chemicals and plastics that are harmful to the environment. La Lune strives to offer eco-friendly, reusable, and sustainable products that will help all menstruators as well as the planet.

PROGRAMS & PROJECTS.

We aim to create a more equitable world. Here are some of the projects we have been working on to accomplish this goal.

Educational Program

La Lune is working to establish an educational program in local communities that will work with local 4th and 5th graders about menstruation. This education program will be all-gender, and in a discussion based environment because we feel that it is important that boys, girls, anyone knows about menstruation, before they, and their friends get their periods.

PERIODicals

As an organization that cares for both the physical and social well-being of the people we serve, we aim to listen to and capture their stories. Our team is currently working to collect photos and the stories of people living in homeless shelters and detention facilities as well as interviews of their individual experiences with menstruation. We plan to include a new segment on our website dedicated to these people’s stories so that it can be accessible to everyone.

Mask Fundraiser

As part of our fundraising efforts, La Lune is selling reusable cloth masks at local schools in a partnership with Stitched Together. For each mask bought, one mask is donated to homeless shelters, detention centers, and local community centers in our COVID-19 relief efforts. 100% of proceeds will go directly to the purchase of menstrual products and hygiene essentials for those in need.
